Toronto Police Service Hosts International Group from OSCE Region
TORONTO, CANADA - April 28, 2005 - The Toronto Police Service host members of the NPSS Group and the international Working Meeting for Training Curriculum Technical Experts from the OSCE Region.
During the week of April 25, 2005, members of the NPSS Group were in Toronto, hosted by Chief William Blair of the Toronto Police Service, to lead the Working Meeting for Training Curriculum Technical Experts from the OSCE Region.
John Howley – Director of the National Public Safety Learning Center (the training arm of the NPSS Group) facilitated discussions with police trainers and hate crimes experts from the US, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, Spain and Hungary.
During the opening international press conference, NPSS Group President Paul Goldenberg joined Canadian Senator Gerry Grafstein and US Congressman Chris Smith in commending the OSCE for their vision and commitment in the international battle against hate crimes.
During this meeting, participants provided their insight, suggestions and recommendation to the development of the international training curriculum that will be provided to police officers in Spain and Hungary in May of this year. The outcome of this week’s efforts has been the enhancement and development of the training material into truly world class product which received high praise from all the programme participants.
