Paul is presently the Senior Adviser on Corporate Security Programs and Director of John Jay College of Criminal Justice Leadership Academy. The Leadership Academy is comprised of Fortune 100 Security Directors, leading academics, current law enforcement and senior business executives working together to improve the leadership skills and business functionality of corporate security practitioners internationally. The Academy provides security and business programs for chief security officers, as well as programs for law-enforcement and military personnel transitioning into the corporate sector.
Paul also established the Risk Management Institute at the College to analyze corporate risk and to develop and implement effective business and security strategies to effectively mitigate risk. This Institute looks at a different business sector annually to bring academics and practitioners together to foster change through education.
Academically, Paul has developed and presented security related courses for Masters Degree and Continuing Education Programs since 1991 and is a member of the President's Leadership Council.
Notable projects over the years have concentrated in the fields of threat assessment, security management, financial fraud prevention, complex international investigations, global crisis management, counterterrorism, information security, executive protection and the development of mitigating controls.
Training and lecture assignments include financial institutions, businesses, security associations, law enforcement and governmental agencies, in the U.S. and abroad. Paul is regularly called upon as a subject matter expert and has appeared regularly on Fox News, CNN, CBS and NBC.
In his corporate sector position of Director of Global Security at Prudential Financial, Paul developed their domestic and international security programs and implemented global preparedness and emergency management programs and enhanced security protocols to address the threats of terrorism.
Prior to joining Prudential, Paul was the Vice President for Corporate Security at Citibank, responsible for establishing and maintaining their domestic and international security programs, and also worked at Republic National Bank, initiating their fraud prevention, and physical security programs.
His domestic and international work over the years has enabled him the opportunity to develop strong relationships with law enforcement and governmental agencies worldwide and a global perspective of risk management. Internationally astute, Paul has worked in over sixty countries worldwide, developing security strategies that add value and protect staff and assets.
Professional credentials include both the Certified Protection Professional and Certified Fraud Examiner certifications.
