The Research Institute for Human Security and Cooperation (RIHSC) is a not-for-profit, non-government and non-partisan international organization uniquely qualified to provide research and information that will positively impact upon the human dimension of global security at the international, national, regional and local levels.
RIHSC advocates that global security is achieved through ensuring the safety and security of individual communities through partnership with government and non-governmental organizations.
RIHSC draws upon the strengths of academics who specialize in the areas of sociology, criminology, organizational behavior and a range of other disciplines in conjunction with practitioners who have personal and organizational knowledge about the implementation of community security concepts.
Through this novel practice, RIHSC is an enabler of new ideas, concepts and methodologies that help governments, communities and organizations work collaboratively to strengthen their safety and security, through greater tolerance, joint ventures and the effective use of their human capital and community resources.
The Institute is an international confederation of academics and practitioners in the fields of policing, public safety, security and community conflict resolution; including the community and organizational capacity building areas that are ancillary to these fields.
The tangible outcome of these collaborations is a series of actionable products and documents including commentaries, discussion papers and white papers that provide a foundation and framework for addressing an existing challenge, as well as implementation models, templates, policies and guides.
The Institute’s collaboration and networking portal is designed to stimulate discussion and incubate new and innovative ideas in the public domain.
Ultimately, the Institute engages its participants to work on specific tasks, projects and challenges in order to achieve goals specific to the representative interests.
That’s the RIHSC approach.
