Violent extremism perpetuated by individuals residing in the U.S. has emerged as a critical homeland security threat over the last decade.

CPS was selected by the second largest county jurisdiction in the country to design, develop and deliver a groundbreaking countering violent extremism (CVE) training initiative for its law enforcement and community leaders. The program is being considered as a best practice nationwide and is supported by DHS, FEMA and IACP.

Under the leadership and vision of CPS, CTVAC (Countering Targeted Violence Against our Communities) materialized from concept to initial delivery in less than 18 months. It has been praised in national forums as a possible model for national and local CVE efforts. 

The program includes an expansive strategic community engagement initiative with a media-rich curriculum and training focused on addressing acts of targeted violence including mass casualty attacks.
