Cardinal Point Strategies (CPS) is called to service around the globe as a trusted partner to provide strategic and tactical solutions that resolve significant problems at the highest levels of an organization. CPS facilitates enterprise-wide risk management, policy development, the improvement of preparedness, productivity and capacity development as well as providing programs to support democratization of governments and their law enforcement institutions.
Some of the examples of CPS international solutions include:
Working with Canadian government to develop new initiatives for criminal justice and social services
Senior CPS staff were “on the ground” at the emergence of the hate crime issue in Canada, to help the nation's largest police service develop policies and procedures as well as training and community engagement strategies to address this emerging threat.
Working with Ministry of Education and National Police in Japan on school violence
Senior CPS staff were engaged in the development national strategies to counter school violence in Japanese schools, working with officials from the Ministry of Education and the Japanese National Police.
Democratization and Human Rights Initiatives
CPS has undertaken consultations with many governments at the Ministerial level, in order to help them address extremist issues and growing intolerance within their borders. In many countries, these were new concepts that supported the democratization of their law enforcement community, and represented the first contact between the police and the NGO community.
This CPS initiative is widely considered to be a “benchmark of success” in this field, and has been heralded as one of the most successful programs of its kind. The program broke new ground in many areas, and set standards and definitions where none had previously existed. CPS staff continue to support this valuable and critical work in a number of participating states.
Building national capacity
CPS is working with members of the African Union to help identify strategies for national security, economic development and community empowerment. In this vital work, CPS brings leading experts in a broad spectrum of skills and knowledge to help develop innovative and unique strategies that are required for nations in conflict regions to grow, develop and succeed in the global economy.
Working with Israeli Police on community policing in preparation for joint police patrols with the Palestinian Authority
Senior CPS staff were engaged in assisting the Israeli Police and Palestinian Authority in the development of a democratic police service, including the development of education and training programs focused on community policing and outreach.
Bringing together law enforcemet experts in Israel and U.S. for counter-terrorist training
Senior CPS staff have been instrumental in the development of trans-national training on “best practices” in counter-terrorism tactical response between US state and local police agencies and national counter-terrorist response units in Israel.
