The CPS SaferCampus™ Practice will identify the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats in relationship to the protocols cited above which constitute the foundation of a safe campus environment. Each Assessment provides the school district or university with a comprehensive report of the findings for the scope selected, qualifying potential problems, identifying existing risks, and categorizing levels of preparedness. The assessment acts as a comprehensive, objective “snap-shot” for school district or university administrators to determine how prepared the administrators, faculty, students and staff are in relationship to the foundation protocols, and where they should allocate planning and response resources. The program also provides emergency planning and response organizations with focal points for their planning efforts, and provides confidence to the University’s board and administrators that their efforts and resource requests are justifiable.
